As you might have already heard, yesterday Apple announced the release date and prices for its latest product, the Apple Watch. While the sport and regular versions cost $349 and $549, respectively, it’s the Apple Watch Edition that is getting the most attention.
The Edition has the same basic features as the others, but with one large difference: it’s solid 18-karat gold, and costs start at $10,000 (before adding the rose gold case and buckle, which are an additional $7K). The Edition models will only be available at certain retail stores.
And if that weren’t crazy enough for you, luxury brand Brikk, which already sells gold, platinum and diamond-encrusted iPhones, has announced its latest product – the “Lux Watch Omni,” a custom 24-karat yellow gold piece set with multiple rows of diamonds around the face, buttons and strap. Ten-thousand dollars for a watch is already plenty, but the “Lux Watch Omni” will cost you $75,000!
