A diamond worth over $18,000 was thought to be lost, until Rosie found it on her walk in Lincolnshire in the UK.
The diamond was dropped 100,000 from space as part of a publicity stunt for jeweler 77 Diamonds in August. Treasure hunters tried and failed to find it, so the diamond was thought to be lost for good. Rosie, a springer spaniel, was on a walk with her owner when she started sniffing and ran under a hedge. 10 minutes later, she dragged out a package covered in mud and leaves. Upon further inspection, the package was found to be the missing diamond.
Rosie’s owners plan to sell the 1.14-carat diamond to help pay for a cruise. Rosie, and the couple’s other dog, Dylan, were rewarded with rib-eye steaks as a reward for the find.
