Rickenbacker Guitars an American guitar manufacturer, has been around since 1931. They became very popular during the British Invasion in the 1960’s and still are. George Harrison was presented with one of the first 360/12 string models. John Lennon used a 325 model. Many British bands used import models available in the U.K. market known as Rose Morris models, they had traditional “F” sound holes rather than the unique Cats Eye slash type sound holes that are recognized on Rickenbacker guitars.
The 12 string models are known for their unique “jangle” tone. Bands like the Beatles, Byrds, The Who , Tom Petty, and many other American and British bands used them.
